Rosemary’s Story

After experiencing multiple losses, I felt hopeless, unmotivated, and lost. In spite of all my efforts and resources to lift myself out of an isolating depression, nothing worked. The Austin Clubhouse has provided me an avenue to socialize, meet new people, set and attain goals, plus experience the warmth and safety of a healthy community. Which at times has even felt like a quasi-home.

One of my favorite parts of the Clubhouse is participating in the Monthly House Meetings because they have reinforced the importance of resolving problems and not just ignoring them. Since I have retired, my goals are geared toward improving the quality of my life as the Clubhouse has modeled.
