Position: Staff Generalist, Operations Unit
Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Organization Overview: Austin Clubhouse is a local nonprofit providing evidence-based, peer-supported mental health recovery services to adults with mental health diagnoses. Austin Clubhouse is accredited by Clubhouse International and adheres to the Standards for Clubhouse Programs, a non-clinical model of recovery founded in 1948. Austin Clubhouse offers onsite opportunities for adults to develop meaningful relationships, engage in meaningful work and connect to resources that promote recovery and greater self-efficacy.
Position Summary: The Staff Generalist leads daily activities and projects at Austin Clubhouse, working side-by-side with members (Clubhouse program participants). The Staff Generalist ensures members are engaged and working together to complete tasks, including front desk reception, data entry, reach out calls, giving tours, new member onboarding, communications, and community outreach. The Staff Generalist links members to community resources and promotes whole health and wellness concepts at the Clubhouse.
Work Environment: It is a shared communal workspace throughout the Clubhouse. There are no member only or staff only rooms. We also provide outreach in the community such as home visits, employment development with businesses, and social outings.
Job Responsibilities:
● Engage members in Clubhouse work, including daily data entry tasks, tracking and reporting of all Clubhouse data, quality control of our monthly reporting, making reach out calls to keep
members connected to the Clubhouse, etc.
● Organize our Clubhouse Reach Out Initiative (i.e. call lists for members who have not been coming into the Clubhouse, monthly birthday card mailings, scheduling home-visits as needed, tracking and updating all returned mail, etc.)
● Co-facilitate daily meetings with members and staff to organize work tasks.
● Work with members on creative multimedia projects (promotional video recording and /or editing, social media postings, etc.) to keep new and old members aware of Clubhouse happenings.
● Identify and promote whole health and wellness concepts at the Clubhouse.
● Goal set with members and connect to community resources as needed (i.e. employment, education, housing, etc).
● Ensure compliance to the International Standards for Clubhouse Programs.
● Develop and maintain community partnerships.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required depending on experience.
● Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
● Experience working with vulnerable populations, preferably individuals with mental health diagnoses.
● Working familiarity with Google Suite, Zoom and Microsoft Office.
● Ability to work one evening a month, one Saturday a quarter, and three holidays a year.
Compensation:
● $22/hour
